About me

RSW

I am Rob Wolfram. Profesionally I'm a Linux sysadmin and I have been an atheist since 2006. My first public blog of my deconversion was on ex-christian.net. These days I have a few more subjects that I pour lots of time in, primarily Bitcoin as a disruptive technology which is mainly driven by my interest in cryptography.

Other interests are some sciences (mainly astronomy and molecular biology) and I've become a solar eclipse chaser. I've veen to Saarbrücken, Germany 1999 (where it was 100% cloudy), Side, Turkey 2006 and Carbondale, IL, USA 2017. The Corona pandemic prevented me from going to Chile in 2020 but I plan on going back to the US in 2024 and to Spain in 2027.

I am also a proponent of free (GNU definition) software and against software patents. For the latter I joined a grass roots lobbying campain in the early naughts which succeded in preventing the EU to accept a directive to allow European software patents.

a Linux sysadmin with a special interest in computer security and cryptography. I've been working in IT since 1993 and as a Unix and Linux sysadmin since 1997. Before that I've been working in law enforcement.
